MusIQ Club Portland Estates-Tuesday May 24

Hi guys, hope you had fun this past Tuesday at MusIQ club class. Just to recap the lesson:

I gave you guys worksheets on the musical alphabet and we named the white keys on the keyboard. Remember there are only 7 letters : A B C D E F G that we use, and each letter corresponds to a particular white key on the piano. However, as you guys already know we do not have just 7 white keys on the keyboard…there are actually 52 white keys on a standard piano. So, when we run out of the letters/note names we start all over again:

Notice the repetitive pattern: a pair of black eyes alternating with a group of 3 black keys…(the black keys represent different notes of which we will not be naming now).

Unlike the key board I have shown you here, the letter names will not be labeled for us, thus it is important to memorize the names of the white keys in order to be able to play a piece of music.
